WHERE DO YOU
WANT TO START?
From a single-period workshop to a schoolwide program — we meet schools where they are.
OUR APPROACH
PREVENTING HATE BEGINS NOT WITH CONDEMNATION, BUT WITH UNDERSTANDING.
How does hate take root? What makes young people vulnerable to prejudice, polarization and extremist thinking? And how can schools help cultivate the curiosity, compassion and courage needed to build stronger, more inclusive communities? Our work starts from one idea: both paths below begin in the same place.
WHEN BELONGING IS OFFERED THROUGH FEAR
- BELONGING
- OTHERING
- DEHUMANIZATION
THE ALTERNATIVE WE TEACH
- CURIOSITY
- COMPASSION
- COURAGE
Not virtues to admire, but skills to build: engaging across differences, challenging harmful narratives, and taking constructive action.
Nonpartisan, grounded in education and dialogue, and designed to meet schools where they are.
THE STORY
FIFTEEN YEARS IN THE MOVEMENT. ONE JOURNEY BACK.
Tony McAleer spent fifteen years in the white power movement, from skinhead to organizer. He went on to co-found Life After Hate. This film follows him to Auschwitz-Birkenau to bear witness — and asks how people get into violent extremism, and how they get out.
Directed by award-winning filmmaker Peter Hutchison. Our programs are built around this film and its companion documentary, Healing from Hate, combining powerful personal stories, historical understanding, facilitated dialogue and practical tools for recognizing and responding to hate.
